Thailand Project
In 2011, eco-Kinetics completed a solar farm project in Thailand, located in Chonbun province near the eastern seaboard. The project was supported by a power purchase agreement with Thailand's electricity authority, Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand. Thailand has similar 2020 renewable energy targets to Australia, as well as a range of tax and investment incentives to attract investment in its renewable energy sector. The project was built by eco-Kinetics on behalf of a prominent private business group in Thailand. eco-Kinetics provided a turnkey solution, with its input covering design, equipment supply, and construction.
UK Project
The system comprises of 315 Tianwei 230W panels mounted to a Wurth rolling ridge mounting system. Eco-Kinetics has chosen Tianwei to supply panels for its projects around the globe and the have proven to be an excellent choice, demonstrating reliability and efficiency. The project was completed in 3 days by a team of 5 installers; the total project time from the design to commissioning was 9 weeks. The project was commissioned on 28 July 2011, just prior to the reduction in feed-in-tariff for systems over 50kW.
The system will generate around 57,000kWh/year and save nearly 30 tonnes of carbon emissions. It will earn £15,950/yr in feed-in-tariff payments and produce electricity savings of around £3,000/yr based on 50% usage of generated electricity. The system will help reduce the cost of running grain drying equipment in the summer months, which is when the panels will be producing maximum output.
